I make 5 figures working from my laptop at age 25.

I don't say this to flex.

I say this to share the mistakes I avoided, so you can avoid them too.

When I first started, I listened to all the common "guru" advice.

The advice you're probably seeing everywhere on Twitter or Instagram right now.

6 pieces of advice we’ve been told that I hope you steer clear of:

The worst advice was “Don’t Sell Often”.

This is good advice if you plan to drop a mass-market product in the future:

(Like Kanye's shoes or Mr. Beast's chocolate bars).

But if you're reading this that's probably not you.

You're here to make sales. Your stuff isn't mass-market.

Their advice doesn't apply to you because you both want different things.

They want a $100M business in 10 years.

Personally, I want $30k profit every month so I can live a life where I am free to choose my struggles.

And for that, 10x sales of a $100 template a day is enough.

Over the years I noticed that the more products I built, the harder it became to market them.

Getting over the fear of selling meant I had to stop building new products and focus on selling what I had.

It made people buy more and took me closer to my goal every day.

Speaking of goals, that's another piece of advice I wish I didn't take:

"Dream big," they say.

When I first started selling digital products, I thought the more ideas I could churn out, the better.

My mindset was "the more I can create, the more I’ll sell."

But with an endless push for more, comes endless overwhelm. I was trying to do everything without a clear focus.

Every month felt "off" because I was designing, marketing, and selling without a real plan.

I was busy, but I wasn’t really getting anywhere.

This constant feeling of dissatisfaction led me to overspend on resources and tools, burning way too much time and money every month.

And yet, I still wasn't where I wanted to be.

Everything changed when I figured out my game plan.

Once I was clear on how much I actually needed to earn, I could map out how many emails I needed to generate, how many products I needed to build and how many launches I needed to.

With a clear goal, everything became more manageable and less stressful.

It's not the lack of sales that gives you anxiety—it’s the lack of clarity on what next steps to take.

Now, with a focused plan, I don’t need an overwhelming array of templates or massive expenses to get there.

Just a few strong products and a lean system do the job.

"You Need Sales Calls."

That’s what they say when you’re building a business that depends on employees and services, where every deal requires an exhausting process.

I considered this business model once—until I realized how draining and unsustainable that was.

Sure, businesses based on sales teams are effective for some, and if they work for you, great.

But saying you need it to make money? That's where I disagree.

I sell Notion templates ranging from $10 to $500, all through Gumroad pages and simple offers.

No calls, no hours spent convincing prospects—just plug & play systems built once, but sold forever.

The reality is, if you understand your template, and it’s well-crafted, you don’t need a business with employees or sales teams.

Building a business that requires constant calls, meetings, and back-and-forths isn’t freedom.

It’s a hamster wheel.

Selling digital products, like Notion templates, gives you the freedom to focus on what truly matters—creating great products and spending time with your customers, not chasing leads.

There’s no universal right or wrong.

But for me, the choice is simple: a business that runs without endless calls is better.

"Be More Patient With Customers."

As you grow, you'll start to receive emails from people asking to "try your template".

I don't do maybes.

It's either a yes, a no or a move on.

I know that the energy required to send free trials and issue refunds is more than the energy needed to find new customers.

I've already done everything in my power to show you what my template can do for you.

If you're still afraid that you'll waste $10 on a template that may or may not work for you - you're not my ideal customer.

So I focus my attention on the fast people and close the loop on slow people.

Rule of thumb: It's not the no's that kill you. It's the maybe's that kill you.

"Just Do More."

There's a fine line between playing the long game and working on pointless stuff that doesn't move the needle.

I tweeted the most stupid shit and sent the most pointless emails for months...

... without gaining any extra followers, emails or revenue.

I tried to solve it with the conventional route:

"Just do more!"

More tweets. More emails. More products.

But none of these solved the issue because you can't scale what's not working.

0 times 100 is still 0.

I had to look at the quality of my output before I could consider scaling it with quantity.

"Sell Only Expensive Templates" or "Sell Only Cheap Templates."

I used to think I had to go all-in on one approach. At first, I only sold low-ticket Notion templates, priced at $15 or less.

This limited my growth because I ended up with a lot of small transactions but without creating deeper relationships or offering enough value to those who want more.

... and I didn't have the quantity of followers or emails I do today, to justify selling $10 templates.

On the flip side, selling only expensive templates at $100-$500 is like asking someone to make a huge commitment without even getting to know you first.

Sure, a few people might jump in, but most won’t.

The game changed when I realized I needed a range of offers—something for everyone.

I broke down my expensive products into more affordable options while keeping the premium ones for those who were ready.

This allowed me to sell to a much larger audience.

The truth is, only about 3% of your audience is ready to invest in your most expensive offer right away.

The other 97%? They’re more comfortable starting with something smaller.

When you offer templates at different price points, it gives them a way to try out your products, understand your value, and then, over time, they’re more likely to invest in the bigger packages.

It’s not about selling cheap or expensive—it’s about giving everyone an entry point, no matter where they are in their journey.

These insights came after burning out multiple times, smoking too much weed, stressed out of my mind.

And the only one to blame here is me.

I blame myself because I blindly followed the advice of industries that don't apply to what I do.
